The manual therapy techniques you use to treat your patients are important. That’s why we teach them so comprehensively, and enhance PTs’ careers through mentorship. But there’s more to it. Much more! Yes, we all want to help heal. But a critical piece to what we do is finding out what’s happening in the everyday lives of our patients that may be impacting their function to begin with, or getting in the way of recovery. Once we have that information, we not only can treat more effectively, but we can teach patients how to maintain wellness long after they leave the clinic. And we’re glad to see a similar conversation being had in healthcare overall.
